We started off the class with Mr. Bruns giving a mock burial for Ted Kennedy. After the appropriate time of mourning, we got down to business. We finished talking about the U.S. Constitution and moved on to Washington's presidency. Washington did not believe in multiple political parties, and called for the enaction of a president only being elected twice for four years each. There was much conflict in his cabinet between Hamilton and Jefferson with Jefferson getting more favor, and Hamilton eventually being shot by Aaron Burr. Our government today is much more like Hamilton's idea for a great government; little power to the states and a strong central government. Also: Washington's teeth were mode of Ivory not wood.Next we moved on to Jefferson. Jefferson won the election with Hamilton's support rather than having Burr as president. He did much with Native American Treaties. After that was president Jackson which was my blog topic. That's really all that I can remember so the end.
