Spaniards wanted gold, English wanted gold to. People come over to start a new life. They came over to practice their own religion and escape the catholic church.

The New England colonies were settled by the Puritans center of trade and industrie. Middle colonies had a lot of ports had a lot to do with shipping. The Southern colonies were settled by wealthier colonists and had more farm land and less people.

French and Indians were allies and were against the British. The war was mostly about controlling North America. Ended in 1763, the British won the war and the French were kicked out. The war put Great Britain into debt and started taxing the colonists.

Started because taxes were extremely high. No taxation without representation, wanted to have a say in the government because of the high taxes they were paying. Lack of communication was a major reason.

United States first government after the war. One represenative from every state and no president. The states had most of the power in the government. The federal government had little power.
