Friday- We started on Westward expansion and why it happened. We purchased the Louisiana purchase and began expanding west as an army and country. A lot of people went west to find riches or a new life. Most were people with some sort of law or problem to escape from. We annexed The republic of Texas into the united states. Which lead to the Mexican American war. What started the war was boundary disputes. The war was imperialistic, After the civil war was fought the US went into the period of Reconstruction
