Today we found out that we are doing a presentation on chapters 5-8. Each group will get assigned a different section, our section is 6-2, the age of the railroads on page 236.

We also got our assigned blog for the week, the seven people i'm on a group with got section 8-2. In the section 8-2 i chose the topic of high school education in the early 1900s.

my assigned blog for this week is on the education of high school kids in the early 1900s

-kids were supposed to go to school intil they were sixteen but most didn't even graduate 8th grade,

-high schools were one room school rooms with kids of many other of different ages and grades.

-the poor kids only got taught reading, writing, and penmanship.

-the public school teachers were mean and hit the children with paddles or rulers.

-rich kids went to academies and were seperated by boys and girls.

-the wealthy kids learned reading arithmetic, writing, dancing, penmanship, tennis, basketball, archery
