"Hot & Cold Media Spin Cycle: A Challenge To Journalists Who Cover Global Warming"
The 16-pages I read were about how global warming doesn't exist. Many references were made to how in the past there were multiple hypes about 'global warming' or another 'ice age' but none of that ever happened. Senator Inhofe says that since 1895 the media has flip-flopped between global warming and global cooling.
In the article, Inhofe says that there was a Little Ice Age that ended in 1850. He says after that the earth warmed, and there weren't even man-made CO2 emissions then. In the 1940s man-made emissions began to rise, but the temperature of Earth began to fall. He also says that the Kyoto Protocol is a lot of economic gain for no climate gain. If people would have realized that the Earth is just doing it's job and it has nothing to do with us, the Kyoto Protocol wouldn't even exist.
Senator Inhofe blames the media a lot in the article. He talks a lot about how Al Gore's movie, An Inconvenient Truth, is pure false facts. The article quotes a few titles and such from articles of magazines many years ago warning of the 'ice age' or 'global warming'. Inhofe says that animals like Polar Bears are actually doing well, and that parts of the world are actually regaining their ice, not loosing it.
Look, I'm sorry, but this guy is pretty full of himself. Just reading his words I can tell that. After reading his article I stay unchanged – global warming is an issue. Even if many years down the road we find out it was just the Earth doing what it has always done, how is recycling, hybrid cards, and conserving energy going to hurt us? It's not. It's helping us live a more eco-friendly lifestyle whether the world really needs it or not. Mr. Bruns, please be happy I actually read the 16 pages without throwing my dad's laptop out my bedroom window. This guy really puts me in a bad mood.
I don't like how Senator Inhofe keeps bashing Al Gore. I believe Al's right and he's wrong. If I didn't think that, would I really own the book and the movie of An Inconvenient Truth? I don't think so. In my personal opinion, I think Inhofe should just ship himself on the last spaceship to Mars. If he doesn't care about Earth so much, because after reading his article he obviously doesn't, why should he even be here? The world would be a much better place with 1) people who aren't like him and 2) people who actually care about it and will do something to make it a better and cleaner place to live! Is it bad we care about polar bears? Is it bad we care about the change of the climate? No! At least we actually pay attention and don't neglect the Earth! How is showing concern a bad thing? If someone you love got in a car wreck, wouldn't you do your best to help them bounce back as best and fast as they can? Wouldn't you care about them? Yeah. So why not care about the planet you live on?
Bruns, are you tired of my venting yet? Well don't be, because I'm not done. Why give the Kyoto Protocol such a bad rep.? It's there to try and help out the environment. I have total respect for the countries that are a part of it, because it shows they truly care. If the media is all over it, let it be. Some may be out to scare, but a lot of them are out there to educate us on how much of a problem global warming can be. I don't ever want to see this guy, hear this guy, or even read an article by this guy again. I strongly disagree with him.
