Assigned Web Log

This is my assigned web log, obviously, and my topic is about Obam'a trip to Asia. Obama claims this was not just a meet and greet but it could also boost the economy. Apparently talking with our Asian allies can produce thousands of jobs and and open fresh markets for Americans. The trip took had many destinations, whether it be Tokyo, Japan or Seoul of South Korea. Obama mentioned that Asia is an area in which we purchase more goods and trade more than any other location in the world, and if we can get even MORE trading done there, it would create even more jobs back in America (i.e. manufacturing, packaging, shipping). He also stated how he talked to the leaders he visited about what they can do to sustain the recovery of our economy and how to bring back jobs so everyone can prosper.

President Barack Obama greeting China’s President Hu JintaoThe government of China is the U.S.'s largest foreign creditor, as the U.S. owes them around 800 billion dollars, so China has the upperhand in the relationship. Obama stated that if the United states can increase the percentile of exports to the Asia-Pacific region by 5%, it could form hundreds of thousands of jobs for the American Workforce. He also thinks that the climate change or energy problems cannot be solved without the help of the Asian and Pacific nations.

Obama in South KoreaObama stated that he and the leaders of Russia and China have sent a message to the leaders of Iran and North Korea mentioning how these countries must live up to the international expectations and give up their nuclear weapons or "face the consequences."My opinion? I think it's great Obama is trying to get international help (although we owe enough money) to build the economy and work on the situation involving nuclear weapons.
