This week, I watched Miracle at St. Anna. This movie is about a man who was in the army and got a purple heart. He was a black man and was in the Buffalo regiment. The movie goes back and forth a lot and confusing at times. The setting is Italy during 1944. This Regiment came upon the Germans bombing statues and one of the men got the head off of one of the statues and ended up becoming a great significances throughout the movie.

At the beginning, the movie takes place in 1983 Harlem. It shows the man, Hector, working and he shot a man. While he was in prison, a reporter and two detectives raided is house and found the statue head. It ended up being a very famous artifact. Then the reporter goes and visits him in prison and asks him about it.

During this time, it went to the war scene in 1944. The regiment is coming upon Germans in Italy. While trying to get away from the fire, one of the men come upon a little boy who witnessed the St. Anna shooting which his parents were killed. Four men and the boy end up going into town and finding someone that will help this ill boy.

Germans end up attacking the town looking for a man that Italians captured. All but one man died, Hector. This is how he earned his purple heart.

At the end, it shows Hector back at Harlem in court. A lady that he did not know was representing him and sold the head of the statue to pay for his bail. She ended up selling it to the little boy that was with them.

This was a great movie, very emotional. I enjoyed it a lot.
