Assigned Blog- Patton

The movie takes place in Northern Africa in 1943 at the start. General George S. Patton is chosen to take command of the Allied forces in Northern Africa and lead the fight against the Germans. The German Army in Northern Africa is being led by Marshal Rommel who Patton knows quite well. General Patton pushes back the Nazi forces by using their very own tactics against them. He is able to do this because Marshal Rommel had written a book on tank warfare which George Patton had studied with vigor.

Because of all the success that Patton was having against the Germans in Africa he gets promoted and moved up to Italy where he is considered for part of the D-Day invasion. However when he visits a hospital he notices several soldiers complaining of fatigue which he thinks is not a legitimate reason for hospitalization. Patton gets in such a fuss over this that he smacks one of the soldiers claiming to have fatigue thus causing a downward spiral which inevitably led to him missing out of the Normandy Invasion. He claws back though persevering  like always and gets put back in command of a division that leads a march through Europe.

I would give this movie a 4 out of 5 stars. I would give it that because it was a very good movie with a well thought out plot line as well as great actors. However it was quite a lengthy movie with a few dry spots that were hard to watch. Overall though it was a rather good movie.
