This week I watched the movie Pearl Harbor.
I thought that the beginning of the movie was kinda cute when the two little boys were playing in the plane.
The beginning of the movie when the boys got older, started basically just like a love story when the nurse was telling her friends of how she met her love. She told them how they met in the hospital thing when he was getting his physical thing to become a pilot in the air force. She passed him for the vision test because she felt bad for him and then he swiped some one else's folder and went to go and thank her for her kindness and he had already gotten the required shot so he got it done again because she didn't know that he had already gotten the shots.
A little later, he tells her that he will be going off to be a pilot and it is very dangerous. That is where he gets into this major crash and basically almost dies. His best friend was to tell his girlfriend that he had died if he ever did die. Both the best friend and the girl friend thought that he was dead, and they start to have feeling for each other . A few months after they start to fall for each other, the guy who crashed comes back. The two guys get into this fight and after a while, they forgive each other. The bombing I thought was very gruesome. I really don't think that I would be able concentrate very well if I was fighting in Pearl Harbor. It was really sad to see all of those men dieing to save our country.
These people are all in Pearl Harbor when the Japanese attack the place. They are all in a rush and everything. The nurse lost one of her best friends trying to get to the hospital to help the wounded men. The two guys had to rush to the mechanist place were there are stored planes which is like ten minutes away from the place that the bombing started. When they make it there, the two men are the only two that are able to get into the air where the Japanese are bombing them. They take down seven planes.
Later on, they then get promoted and they get assigned to this mission. They learn later that this mission is to bomb Japan right back. After they bomb Japan, they were trying to get to China, but they are running on fumes and they end up crashing making them get raided by Japanese. One of the best friend ends up getting shot and dies trying to save his best friend.
The nurse back home, is expecting the guy that died to come home, but his best friend is one of the men carrying the casket that he was in.
The end ended in the live best friend marrying the dead friend's girl and the girl was already pregnant before the men left, and the live one raised him too and ended up naming the little boy Danny that was the dad's name.
I also watched part of the documentary that was at the end of the movie. Some of the things that I learned was that Japan bombed Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941 starting World War II. I already knew that, but they said that in the documentary. 2400 men had died in Pearl Harbor. I thought it was cool how the survivors chose to bury themselves in the water of Pearl Harbor when they die. Some of the fun on that ship that went on was boxing or Navy dances. There was 185 vessels in the Harbor when the Japanese attacked. A few hours before they had attacked, an enormous spot showed up on to the radar. the people watching the radar had called the head people and they said not to worry about it because some kind of plane was expected to land soon in the port. 7:55 am the Japanese decided to attack.
I think it was kinda scary thinking that my great grandpa was stationed at Pearl Harbor and he could hav edied and I would have never been born.
