Assigned Blog Chapter 8.2

This chapter discusses America's push for a stable education system and how school age children were now required to attend school. As a result the literacy rate grew and education was prominent in the states. More children began attending school as well. Kids didn't enjoy school very much because according to some students teachers could be very abusive over the littlest of things, hitting children with rulers by teachers was fairly common.High School which was uncommon before for teenagers was becomming increasingly popular for the demanding work the country required with it's in advances in technology in the workplace. As a result college output quadrupeled and more and more kids were heading off to college to pursue higher paying jobs.African Americans were beginning to get a fair eduacation post Civil War. African Americans began founding there own univiersities in the south. There was still racial discrimation and only about 1% of black teenagers were enrolled in school.I believe that these advances in education had a great affect on the US economy and technology jobs. Vastly it improved the United States as a whole, giving us an international advantage over other countries by being better and smarter then all the rest by competeing and pressing the education system to get us there. African Americans deserved fairer treatment then what the gave. But you gotta realise we were coming from believing these people were nothing more then cattle to giving them education, what happened was likely.Image and video hosting by TinyPicImage and video hosting by TinyPic
