In 2003, from March 20- May 1st the U.S. and other countries invaded Iraq. The reason we invaded Iraq was because Saddam Hussein
supported terrorism, and we believed they had weapons of mass destruction (nuclear, chemical, and biological weapons), or were working on them. We also believed that by invading them we could help free Iraq’s people and help protect the world from the danger of theese weapons. The main reason that the countries finally invaded Iraq, was because they gave the leaders a last warning to dispose of it’s harmful weapons, and nothing was done.
On March 20, 2003 Bush and pentagon officials took advantage to strike Iraq after a nearly four hour conference discussing it. They then bombed and sent missals to Iraq, and announced a campaign shortly after the attacks. Saddam responded by tapping into the televisions in Iraq and, wearing a military uniform, responded by declaring that Iraq would be victorious and what the U.S. was doing was strictly criminal.
I'm not sure that they stated the war off right since they had no complete evedence that they did have nuclear bombs, but to keep our countrie and others safe, it had to be done.
