Assigned Blog 7- The Treaty of Versailles

On June 28, 1919, the Treaty of Verailles was signed. The treaty ended the state war with Germany and the Allied Powers. The treaty made peace with Germany and thirty two other countries. Britian, Italy, France and Japan were some of those countries but China didn't agree to stop fighting. The treaty said that Germany was supposed to change the boundaries of the country and places that Germany owned. The Leauge of Nations took away the colonies from countries that lost in the war, this was also part of the treaty. The men that wrote the treaty were called "The Big Four". They were, President Wilson of the United States, Prime Minister David Lloyd of the United Kingdom, Premier Georges Clemenceau of France, and Prime Minister Vittorio Orland of Italy.

After the Germans were forced to sign the treaty, their colonies got taken away and they had to give natural resources away like, coal, livestock, money ect. Germany had to reduce their millitary to 100,000 men. They weren't allowed to have an airforce and they couldn't have any submarines. Germany wasn't able to unite with Austria.

I think that the Treaty of Versailles could have helped lead to World War II because a lot of the requirements of the treaty made the Germans mad. Like having to give up their land. Making their military stop fighting also upset them. The Germans maybe thought they needed to get back at other countries and Hitler helped them do that.
