Bill Cosby was born on July 12, 1937. Bill Cosby was born and raised in Philadelphia. His father was Anna Pearl and his dad was William Henry Cosby. His mother was a maid and his father was a sailor in the United States Navy. When Bill was a kid he was a class clown but also the class president. When Bill got to high school he had jobs before and after school while also competing in baseball, football, basketball and track. Then before his tenth grade year he transferred schools. Bill then failed the tenth grade. Instead of going back to school he joined the navy. While in the navy he discovered that you do need an education. He then went to Temple University and ran track.
Bill Cosby first discovered his ability of humor when he made good tips at his job working at a bar in Philadelphia. Bill then went on to make a career in comedy. His first big comedy job was at the Gaslight Café in New York. He then went on to show his talents on The Tonight Show on NBC. After that Bill was involved in his most popular show ,”The Bill Cosby Show. After The Bill Cosby Show was off the air he went back to college at the University of Massachusetts. After he was finished with school he went on to finish his career in comedy.
I think Bill Cosby was a great comedian and actor and helped young African American actors and comedians kick off their careers.
