The development of the electric transit-

As skyscrapers began to grow higher and higher towards the sky, changes in transportation be can to change for the better and it helped to let the cities to spread out to expand. it wasnt till before the beggining of the civil war that the only type of transportation besides walking was horse drawn "streetcars" that ran over pairs of iron railings put all around the streets. Starting sometime during the 1870's through the 1880's, the people started to put in cables underground to help the streetcars move much faster. It was about the time that people started to realize that electricity made life in the urban times alot easier.

By 1888, Richmond, Virginia became the very first of all american cities to electrify its urban transit. Other cities started to follow after Richmond. By atleast the twentieth century people started creating an assortment of many street cars combined and called them - trolly cars- the trolly cars would run from almost anywhere, examples were outlaying neighborhoods to downtown officies and department stores.

i learned more about how electricity than i thought i knew. before i did this i did not know that they put cables underground to help make the streetcars move more faster. after this i did not have the slightest clue about where people started using more electricity than others.
