This movies starts out at the battle of Normandy and they are under heavy fire. Many people are getting shot and it seems like they are all going to die. Their are six men that are sent on a mission to find private Ryan. They want to find him because they found out that all of his brothers have been killed in action and they think it is fair for Ryan's mother to at least have one son left, so they are sent to find and bring Ryan home. On their journey, first they run into some Germans and one man gets killed. Then the think that they found Ryan but it happens to be the wrong Ryan so then they keep on going. They run into more Germans and another one of their men gets killed and the German who killed him they let go. They finally find the real private Ryan and tell him about his brothers and that they are sending him home but Ryan doesn't think that it is fair for him to go home when all the other soldiers fought just as hard as he did and the its not fair that 2 of their men have died just to save him. Toward the end of the movie more Germans attack and everyone is killed besides Ryan and one other guy and they end up seeing the German that they let go once and end up killing him. At the end of the movie it shows Ryan saluting the leaders grave "Miller" at Arlington Cemetery.
I would give this move a three out of five. I like this movie because I like Tom Hanks and Matt Damon but I thought it was kind of boring at points and the fighting just didn't seem very real to me and it seemed like bad filming for some reason. I have just seen better war movies and this one didn't impress me all that much. It is still a really good movie and I would recommend it. It is very long though and that's maybe why I thought it was more boring because it was almost three hours long.
