Assigned Blog #2 Monuments Men

The movie Monuments Men is about a man that is trying to save art from the Nazis. He goes to the president and convinces him that saving the art would  make the victory better. The president allows him to assemble a team to try to get back the stolen art and return it to the owners. They end up finding much of the art in mines. Some had been destroyed by the Nazis, but they saved a lot of it. They even risked their lives and some died. At the end, the main character (Frank Stokes) is asked by president Truman weather the lives lost were worth the art and he said yes. then he asked if he thought that 30 years from now if anyone would remember. it went to him in the future with his grand kid at the museum and he said yeah.

I enjoyed this movie. It wasn't perfectly historically accurate, but it was entertaining. It had a quite different tone and more realistic feel when they found the gold teeth pulled from the mouths of holocaust victims. i would give this move about 4.5 out of 5 stars.
