Fury
The World War Two movie Fury shows what the end of the war is like from the view of a tank crew. Don Collier(Brad Pitt) is a staff sergeant who commands a Sherman tank named Fury with four other men. The other men in his crew are Trini Garcia, Boyd Swan, Grady Travis, and Red. Red was the Don's assistant but he was killed fighting earlier in the war. Since Red was killed in battle, they replace him with a rookie named Norman Ellison, who has no experience with a tank and battle. The veterans in the crew make him do hard jobs like cleaning the tank and are very mean to him throughout the movie. There are four tanks sent to hold a spot that is protecting the railroad and a camp of nurses. One of these tanks is Fury and it is the only tank left after the other three are destroyed after an ambush of Germans. During the battle, Fury loses it's radio signal. Then while they have no communication with anybody, the tank hits a land mine that disables the tank and pretty much makes them sitting ducks. They end up coming up to a group of men and ambush them instead of retreating. The crew do pretty well until they start to get low on ammo and have to get back but three of the veterans are killed right away. Don doesn't get killed right away but he is injured, and Norman retreats to Fury. The enemy toss grenades at them and into the tank. Luckily Norman escapes through the bottom of the tank in an escape hatch and doesn't get killed by the grenades. Don was just like the tank, not moving, so he was killed by the grenades. Norman hides in a crater left by the land mine, which seems very good but is seen by an enemy soldier. Norman does not get reported so he stays under the tank until he is found in the morning by a friendly. Norman is the only man left of the five man crew.
This is one of the best movies I have ever seen because I love action and it is action-packed. Brad Pitt couldn't have done a better job considering he is one of my favorite actors. I really like his leadership showing how he will never give up even when there is a small chance of being successful. The rest of the actors did a very good job putting this movie together which made it so good. The movie has a very good theme showing how a veteran crew gets a rookie soldier and they turn him into what some could consider a hero.
It obviously gets a 5/5 in my book because there is no doubt it is one of the best war movies ever. I also like newer movies showing history because they if they do it right, then it is so good. I would highly recommend this movie to people that have never seen it. It doesn't matter if they like war or action movies or not, they will like the lessons that are taught throughout the movie. It is also very ironic that the rookie of a five man crew with the rest veterans was the only man to survive considering his lack of experience in war and especially with tanks.
