Summarization:
Senator Inhofe points out in his speech that over the years, people have been convinced that we were in danger of an ice age, global warming, an ice age, and then now, once again, global warming. People have been too hyped up over global warming, and every odd weather incident has been jumped to being blamed on global warming.
A scientist, Michael Mann came up with a graph showing that over the past nine hundred years temperatures have been normal, up until the twentieth century when they suddenly spiked, and most people put that blame on human activity. But, after this graph was posted, some other scientists prodded it, and concluded that we had a medieval warm period where temperatures might have been even warmer, before humans effected the world so much. Certain scientists have been trying to cover up this period of time, having deep belief in global warming.
CO2, may not be a reasonable cause of global warming since after we experienced a small ice age that ended in 1850, the temperatures started to increase greatly before CO2 could have any affect on temperatures at all. Then, when CO2 was starting to get greater in the earth, the temperature fell instead of rose. The sun could be causing more of the problem than humans, it is found that it causes fifty percent of global warming, and as it’s output lessens it should start to get colder on earth.
The Kyoto Protocol to him has been a waste of time for many countries. Many of the countries that have it now aren’t really doing what it says that they should do because it has been hurting them more economically than the climate. Taking time to do simple tasks such as changing your light bulbs to a more energy efficient type is a great thing to do, but can’t do much to help and is a waste, ‘symbolism doesn’t solve a climate crisis‘.

Senator Inhofe had a multitude of different quotes from all sorts of magazines dating back to a hundred years ago or just twenty five years ago such as The New York Times and Chicago Tribune warning of either and upcoming ice age or global warming, that never really affected the earth. The media has been overreacting on all the warming’s and cooling’s. The media has been posting stories without telling the whole truth, like the fact that Greenland has been gaining ice, and the Artic was warming in the 1930’s.
He even pointed out many of the flaws to a newer movie “The Inconvenient Truth” put together by Al Gore. This list was nearly a whole page long, and included many things such as hurricane activity not being an effect of global warming, and polar bears are thriving instead of drowning due to lack of ice.
The whole polar bear crisis to the Senator is being over reacted. Somebody was visiting the Artic and saw two polar bears, one was thought to be dead and the other exhausted. A news paper then wrote a whole story over it, without actually stating the condition of the bears. Many people are also lead to believe these days that polar bears are going into extinction. Biologist Dr. Mitchell Taylor says concludes that polar bears are not dying, of thirteen types in Canada, eleven are growing.

Half of American’s believe global warming is caused by people, while the other half believes it is from natural causes or not going on at all. Also, most of Americans don’t link global warming to recent storms and weather issues. The percentage of American’s that believe global warming is happening due to natural causes is rising.
My Opinions:
Although Senator Inhofe does have some great points that do want to make me change my mind on global warming, I’m still not entirely sure if it is a true issue or not. In ways through the news and internet I hear many different sides of this issue and what it’s doing to the world. The thing is, until this actually affects me and my life, I’m not going to be able to make up my mind on weather it exists or not. It still couldn’t hurt anybody to try to help prevent it, by getting better cars and using less energy, although Inhofe does basically say that doing things like that is useless, in the long run it could make our world a much better and friendly home. Inhofe tends to ramble about the same things over and over in his article and repeating the same things, like how media is stressing the topic too much, doesn't help him prove his point.
