Assigned Blog #15- Baby Boom

A baby boom is a period in time where the number of births that take place rapidly increases. One of the most famous baby booms was the one that occurred after world war two. This baby boom did not only take place in the United States but also in Australia, New Zealand, and Canada. This time started right after the war ended and lasted for almost a decade. There was more then 77.3 million babies born during this time.

In the United States, the number of babies born went from 24 million in the 1930s to 32 million in the 1940s. This was do to couples that were not able to afford families during the great depression now being able to do to their profit from the war.
In Canada the baby boom was from 1947 to 1966. The later start was do to the Canadian soldiers not being pulled out of duty until 1947 which was later then the US soldiers. The baby boom of Canada ended later do to the birth control pills not being introduced later.
