Saving Private Ryan
This might be one of the most intense films I have seen, or at least the most intense beginning to a film that i have seen. The film is about four brothers who attack the Omaha beach at France. Only one of them makes it out alive, but he is still concealed into enemy lines. It starts off when their getting off their boat thingys and a bunch of them get killed and many of them drown because of the heavy equipment they are carrying. Although the Americans lost a lot of soldiers they prevailed and took over the beach. When the people who are typing the letters to homes of deceased soldiers they realize that three dead soldiers have the same last names and are brothers. So they know that the mom of these soldiers will get all the letters in one day they send some men on a mission to find the other brother because they think he could still be alive. They send a total of 8 men on this mission to find Private Ryan.
They find a half deaf guy at a camp who knows of Private Ryan and he gives them clues of Private Ryan's location. When they find Private Ryan they help him fight off German soldiers. They stayed and helped because they thought that securing the bridge was very vital. This was a really awesome scene!! They used sticky bombs which pretty much wiped out the tanks. This battle took a long time but i thought it was a really gruesome battle and was very intense.
I thought that this was a very good movie. It was very intense battle action all the way through. It really highlighted a lot of the bad conditions and a lot of the good things that happened during D-Day. One of the best war movies i've ever watched. Thank you for the suggestion Bruns!!!
