So this movie begins with the battle of Normandy. Captain John Miller (Tom Hanks) and his platoon land on a beach in a fire zone. A lot of American soldiers are dying and the only ones that survive are the ones that put themselves in a specific shelter on the beach. Later the people realize that three of the four boys of the Ryan family have died and the other Ryan has gone missing. So the military sent a rescue mission to find this man. So John Miller and 8 other men go and search for him. In their journey they begin doubting themselves and saying if this man is still alive.
But later in the movie Miller ends up finding Ryan in a dangerous firing zone. The Germans end up coming and fighting them and they fight back. At the last moment Allied planes come and raid on the Germans. Of the 8 men that he went with, only 2 survived. At the end of the movie, Ryan ends up going back home in Iowa (Our home state) and tries to live a normal life and remember the men who served with him.
I would give this movie a 5 star out of 5. I thought the plot went with what actually happens in WWII really well. Also actors were really good and just the movie overall was great.
