My mom’s side of my family comes from Ireland. Both the grandparents of my grandpa and the grandparents of my grandma on my mother’s side came over from Ireland. They came over to the U.S in the late 1800’s. My dad’s side of my family comes from Denmark. My great great grandparents on my dad side came over in the mid to late 1800’s.
My great grandma on my father’s side was born in New York. My great grandfather on my dad’s side was also born in New York. My great grandpa worked as a mechanic. That may have been the reason that my grandpa decided to make a business dealing with that. They met at the when he was 15 and she was 13. They got married 4 years later. They had kids and moved to the mid west years later. My grandpa started a business called Rasmussen Auto parts, it is located off highway 44 near Jacksonville. My dad now owns it.
I could not find out as much on my mom’s side, but I will say what I did find out. My great grandma was born in the Pennsylvania. When she was 15 she met my great grandpa who was also 15. They got married when they were 17. They had kids and moved to the midwest. My grandma and grandpa both live in Irwin today.
