Saving Private Ryan
The movie Saving Private Ryan opens on the scene of a man walking through a military cemetery with thousands of crosses. All of them were in line and they were all someone who died in the line of duty. Then, the scene switches to of hundreds of men in a boat on their way to war on the Omaha Beach for D-Day in Normandy to attack France. They were all getting ready to go to battle. They really didn’t know what was coming because they were the first ships to get there. They went under a lot of fire and everyone was dying around them but they kept going. They didn’t stop. Then, the scene changes to people in an office. They were writing letters on typewriters and an older woman came across the last name “Ryan” twice. Then, she went over to other letters and found another one. So, three brothers all died in war and the mother was going to get all three telegrams at once. They then found out that there was another brother named James Francis Ryan from Iowa.
John Miller got this case. He was the one who was told to go and find James Ryan and get him to go home to his family so his mother won’t lose all of her sons in one war. They ended up losing two of his men due to enemy fire. When they found Ryan, he didn’t want to go home. He said the only brothers he has left now are the people he fights with. Miller understands this and told him he could stay and they were planning a battle for people who were going to go through their town. Only a select few people managed to stay alive. Ryan being one of those, and Miller not. Then, the movie ends the way it began. The man in the cemetery. It zoomed out and it showed the man who saved his life. The cross showed:

Review:
This movie was one of the better WW2 movies that I've seen and they were not scared to show details of what happened to people when they got shot and injured and how their reactions were. It was very good and it was very moving.
