1. Where your ancestors came from.
My ancestors came from Czechoslovakia, and Germany.
2. How, why and when they came to America.
They wanted to start a new life and farm. They wanted a new beginning for their families. The Americas was just beginning. They both came over around 1890. They sailed over the ocean in a boat.
3. Once here, where did they settle and why.
They both settled around the Denison area because that is where most people they came with settled. It looked like a great place to raise a family and to farm.
4. Share any interesting stories in you family history.
My great great great grandfather carved a stand with a wood dear head on it and brought it over with him from Germany. It is more than 100 years old.
My source is my grandpa John Meyer.
