Unbroken
I watched the Movie Unbroken that just lately came out. Based off of a true story and World War two. The main character in the movie is Louis Zamperini. In the movie it flashed back to Louie's life as a child. Louie was always a boy in trouble as a child till his older brother seen how fast he could run and then turned him into an Olympian runner. After he went to the Olympics he went into the military. Louie and two other guys would fly in bomber planes. They were in an old plane that went down in the ocean. They went through lots struggles when the plane went down. They were on the ocean alone for 40 within two rafts. Two of the men survived one died. One of the survivors that I remembered ate all the chocolate when your only supposed to have a square a day, The sharks would try and eat them. They would eat the seagulls and they all got sick from it. One of the days they had no more water and it ended up raining and they caught the water to drink. They about didn't survive. Japanese planes found them and put the guys in prisoner war camps. They were tortured, beaten and starved. The head of the Japanese prisoner of war camp didn't like Louie because he knew he was a strong Olympian runner so he tortured him way more than other prisoners. He would use Louie as an example and try and break his spirit. I think they got the name of the movie unbroken because towards the end of the movie the Japanese guy made Louie put a heavy piece of wood over his head. Louie overcame the heavy piece of wood and make the Japanese guy loose face because Louie never ever game up. The War was over and they got released and got to come to the United States. Louie went back to Japanese at one point and forgave all the prisoner commander but the one commander never would see Louie or let him talk to him. He was threatened by Louie. I thought this was a wonderful movie. It really showed how much they wear beaten and how hard it was for them. They never game up though. The movie was very long about two and half hours and seeing them always tortured that long gave me a real impact feeling of how strong and what pain he went through. He had so much character for forgiving the Japanese for what they did to him. I don't know if I could do that. I thought this was a wonderful movie.
