The History of the Taliban:

The Taliban is pretty much a group of Muslims who were a "political movement" whose original purpose was to get the Soviet troops out of Afghanistan. The US and Pakistan helping with financial and military needs. According to the New York Times, The Soviet Union lost 15,000 people in the military in Afghanistan. The Afghan government was backed up by the Soviet Union and then led by President Sayid Mohammed Najibullah and was “overthrown”. The Mujahideen alliance formed a new Afghan government, which was led by Burhanuddin Rabbani as a leader, and failed to reach “political unity” and had ended up fighting each other.  The Taliban ruled Afghanistan for 1996 till 2001. During the Afghanistan Civil War was when Taliban had come into power. During this war they had about 90 percent of the territory in their country. Five days after September 11, in 2001 the Pakistan's president, General Pervez MuPakistan and the president Pervez Musharrafsharraf, pledged to support for The United States and to capture Bin Laden. They also agreed to fight militant groups and with all the Taliban members that came into contact with Al Qaeda. It was a pledge that had to be followed quickly with demonstrations and protests by the pro-Taliban groups in Pakistan. That’s where the Taliban’s leaders were educated and where they fled the United States bombing of Afghanistan.

After all of this is when Iraq came into this mess. The Taliban, went from southern Afghanistan and then North-West Pakistan, and then started to “regroup” and “carry out” many deadly attacks against the United States and led coalition in Afghanistan.

After the 9/11 incident attacks on the US, our country created six demands the Taliban:

1. Deliver all leaders and members of Al Qaeda to the United States.

2. Release all foreign nationals that have been put in jail unfairly.

3. Protect journalist and aid workers from other countries.

4. Close every terrorist training camp.

5.    Hand over every terrorist and their supporters.

6.     Give the United States full access to terrorist training camps for inspection.

  • Good information but it needs to be organized better into paragraphs. You have one big paragraph that is all over the place. Also, don't forget to add personal thoughts to each assigned blog.
