The Boy in the Striped Pajamas
The Boy in the Striped Pajamas is a movie based on the Holocaust and World War II. It is about a little german boy, Bruno and a jewish prisoner, Shmuel. Bruno is around the age of 7 or 8, and is the son of a Nazi. He doesn’t understand the war because of such a young age. It all starts when Bruno’s family moves to Berlin for the war. Bruno is very mad because he has to do this. Once the family gets to Berlin, Bruno explores and find a farm. He goes a little farther every day to explore and finally reaches a concentration camp. Bruno gets to the barbed wire fence and meets his new friend, Shmuel. Shmuel is around the same age and is what you would expect to see at any concentration camp. Bruno visits him every day. Shmuel tells Bruno what goes on inside of concentration camps.
Bruno and his mother find out about the terrible things going on and find out Bruno’s father is behind all of it. Bruno’s mother and father get into lots of fights because of it. Bruno’s father is going to send Bruno and his mother to his aunt’s house. Bruno gets a shovel and makes his way into the concentration camp. Right when Bruno gets though, he and Shmuel are sent to the gas house together. They both suffer together.
I think this is a very inspiring story to show off what really happens inside of concentration camps and during World War II. It was a very sad movie especially when the two boys are sent to the gas house together. I would give this movie a 4.5 out of 5 because it was very well put together. It was very deep and shocking at the end. There were some dull moments where nothing really happened but overall it was an excellent movie and I would recommend it for anyone.
