Communists: China, North Korea, Louse, Cuba, Vietnam

Socialism vs. Capitalism

--Government controls businesses vs. Economic system where people own businesses - ownership - leads to income inequality

First leader of Soviet Union

Vladimir Lenin - he believed in some theory that believed in Communism --- Marxist

If he didn't trust people, he killed them - killed millions

Different political systems

-US is based on democracy, capitalism and freedom

-USSR is based on dictatorship, communism and control

The Red Scare - 1919, fear of becoming communist - stopped immigration,

Both thought their system was better

Stalin said he would allow free elections at the Yalta Conference

American fear of a communist attack (Red Scare) and the USSR's fear of a US attack

USSR's fear of the atomic bomb

USSR's actions in their German zone
