Today Kody picked up where he left off on his D Day presentation.
D Day
-They wanted air plane support to take out obstacles that the Germans set up
-Omaha was the most heavily fortified
Why the Allies won WII and the effects
-advantages; the Navajo codes, and broke the Japanese code (magic), natural resources, atomic bombs
Key Battles:
- Battle of Iwo Jima first attack on Japanese home land, 35 day battle
- Battle of Okinawa; 250,000 died half that were wounded
-Battle of Hiroshima and Nagasaki; Atomic bombs, surrender, radiation sickness
-Tojo put to death and we helped rebuild Japan
-US had so many resources that would support our troops and were able to support our allies. Where our enemies were running out
-Technology; atomic bombs
-We had many more people
