Monday- Song projects
- Korean War- Split into two. Soviet Union took north we took the south. It was not supposed to stay split but it did.
- MacArthur was fired for not obeying orders and wanting to use nuclear weapons. We fought along the border and then got a stop fire.
- We massively destroyed North Korea.
- North Korea had nuclear weapons and they do because they backed out of the nuclear non-perforation act.
- United states North Korea South Korea China Soviet Union Japan- these countries talk to try and stop NK nuclear stuff.
- Then they were taken off of the Axis- of evils list.
- Kenneth Bae- was an American who got captured by North Korea and we just got him back.
- Vietnam War- We were there to stop Communism
Tuesday- Song Projects
- Geneva Conference- It was set up for elections. The elections were never really happened.
- Ho Chi Minh-
- Escalation-
- Viet Cong- Our enemy communist that we fought in the south.
- Guerrilla Warfare- They came out of the trees then retreated.
- Gulf of Tonkin Resolution- Said to not be real Johnson just was trying to get more into the war.
- President Lyndon Johnson- He sent a lot of soldiers into the war.
- General William Westmoreland- He was in charge of the war. He kept saying that we needed more troops.
- Tet Offensive- Offensive movement by the enemy. The Vietnam would move into cities and load up guns and attack major cities.
- Pentagon Papers-
- Operation Rolling Thunder- We had non stop bombing on Vietnam. It was to destroy there will.
- Ho Chi Minh Trail- The North Vietnamese would use this to bring supplies down to the Vietcong.
- Agent Orange- Kills plants so it is easier for us to find them.
- Napalm- It is a sticky fire substance.
- My Lai Massacre- There were kids that were very young and elderly that were killed. They were also raped.
- Vietnam War Protesters-
- Kent St. University Protest- Young people were protesting the war. There war kids that were killed. The national guard football field was trapped and they were throwing rocks at them.
- President Richard Nixon- Said that this war was going to go no where. Said we would get out of the war and then attacked other countries that made the people angry.
- Vietnamization- Gradually we would pull out our troops and the Vietnamese would fight the war.
