Zach O. finished his presentation and the group before us is still trying to get there presentation done or maybe stalling. Then April and Ashley presented Cryptography.

Cryptography

was a machine used in WW2 to send secret meassage to other country without being detected.

Code names

Magic was an allied machine used against the Japanese to crack the codes and messeages they send.

Purple was Japan's machine to send secret meassages.

Bombe was a British code machine that would try to decode the German Meassages.

Enigma was invented by Arthur Scherbius German Engineer. It was like a typewriter. It was able to break large codes. Used by Germans.

Navajo Code Talkers were Natives who served in the US army were part of Code Talkers. What they do is decode the Navajo language. No one else knew of this language other than Navajos and it wasn't written down so its even harder to learn it.

Klaus Fuchs gave the Soviet Union information from the United States and Great Britain. He knew information about the Atomic Bomb and was sent to build the Atomic bomb in 1943. In 1945, he was claimed to be part of this spy group and was informing others on his behalf. He denied being a spy until 1950 when he was sentenced to 14 years in prison and lost his British Citizenship

Tokyo Rose was a radio that had 12 diffrent girls who would tell about the war and what was going on during this time. She was an American citizen being force to be part of this plan.

Commerece Raiding

Use of naval forces to destroy the supply lines of an enemy on the open sea, rather than engaging them. Ecombatants themselves or enforcing a blockade against them.

Major Battles were Guadall Canale, Iwo Jima, Coral Sea, Midway and Philippines.

Island Hopping-Crossing an ocean by a series of shorter jouneys between islands, as opposed to a single jouney directly across the ocean to the destination

After the battle of Midway, established a line of overlapping island bases, as well as air control.

They capture certain key islands within American bombers.
