U.S. goal was to capture Iwo Jima
They wanted to capture two major air fields
The Americans won the island
Midway
Was the most important water attack
They new it was coming so they ambushed
They wanted to lure the American carriers out and extend our defense perimeter.
The outcome of the war was the Americans dropped two atomic bombs that they dropped on two cities
They surrender after the second one hit.
August 15, 1945 the pretty much surrendered

Generals-
Erwin Ramel- One of Hitler’s body guards, his nickname was desert fox, served in WWI
Montgomery- Served in India before being sent to France
Patten- He carried pistils that had ivory handles, he died in a car crash right after the war.
