Ahmadinejad's Backround

Mahmound Ahmadinejad was born in 1957 in the village of Aradan near Garmasar. He was fourth born from seven siblings. He and his family moved to Tehran for better economic opportunity. When they moved to Tehran they also changed their name. The Families original name was Saborjhian. His solidarity has been influenced by his father, Ahmad. His father ran a grocery store and then a barber shop in Aradan and when they moved to Tehran he became a blacksmith.Ahmadinejad took Iran's national university entrance contests in 1976 and ranked 132 out of 400,000 for that year and then enrolled in Iran University of science and technology. In 1997 he received a PhD in transportation engineering and planning from IUST.He had many early political careers. Mahmound first took political office as unelected governor to both Maku and Khoy in West Azarbaijan Province during the 1980s. He eventually became an advisor to the governor general of Kurdistan Province for two years. Ahmadinejad was appointed governor general of Ardabil Province from 1993 until Mohammad Khatami removed him in 1997 when he returned to teaching. This happened duringn his doctoral studies at Tehran.

In 2003 Ahmadinejad became mayor of Tehran. He made many changes as mayor such as puting religious emphasis on the activities of cultural centers, made separation of elevators for men and women in the municipality offices, suggested that people killed in the Iran–Iraq War be buried in major city squares of Tehran and worked to improve the traffic system and put an emphasis on charity, such as distributing free soup to the poor.

I believe that Mahmound Ahmadinejad had a very good backround to becoming president. I think that his parents did a lot to influence him to go into politics. I also believe that that the changes that he made were good except for the splitting up the men and women in elevators.
