So today in CWI we continued with our democrat and republican debates. We basically discussed healthcare, a topic that we all have a very firm understanding of now that the gargantuan blog...or at least I'd hope we all did.Obviously, the democrats, the side I'm supporting in this debate, sees healthcare as a right to every American citizen. Therefore, the government must provide it to the deepest extent that they can. I must say that though I defended this, I do not agree with it. This is only because of the tax increase for the wealthy. As I've said before, taxing a certain successful group, to cover for an unsuccessful group, is stupid. Now, I of course understand helping the sick that are denied coverage, but that problem would be solved with rules and limitations on the insurance system, not a reformation of healthcare as a whole. Also, we discussed military spending. This seemed to segue into pro and anti war theories, and I, in all my passivity, was called out by Mr. Bruns. I knew it was going to happen, considering I am as close to a hippy as one my age, and parents like mine, can get.I'm looking forward to debating Gay marrige. On this topic, I have a lot to say.
