Today in class we talked about how Osama's group attacked the world trade centers in 1992. 3 to 4 thousand people that were part of his group are in jail. They want to spread their religion to get the U.S. and other western countries out of the middle east. The war in afghanistan took place in the year of October 7th, 2001. We went to war in afghanistan because of 9-11. There are currently 60-65,000 troops in afghanistan. There is about 35,000 troops from other countries. They are currently getting stronger. The Taliban was formed in 1994. The Talibans are currently located in afghanistan. The generals in afghanistan are requesting more troops because they are gaining more power.
