Today, in class, we finished talking about our blog topics from over the past weekend, which were The Taliban, 9/11, Al Qaeda, and the War in Afghanistan, my topic. I got to go today, and fiercely explain my superior knowledge of the subject, making my Possy look like a couple of chumps. Siebert had explained early conflict, involving the Soviet Union, I talked about more recent post 9/11 times, and Drake merely did a follow-up which anything to add. Actually, when Sieb was talking, I felt dumb because I hadn't really researched the problems dating back to the 70's.Other people had talked about Al-Qaeda today, which is led by the infamous Osama Bin Laden. I even learned today that the main reason we had wanted to take the Taliban out of power was because they had supported Al-Qaeda and allowed them to train in Afghanistan. Later, Mr. Bruns mentioned our upcoming blog assignment, which he again broke up into topics--I chose Iran's nuclear power thingamajig. Even though he just gave it to us today, it will still be due on Sunday, unfortunately. PS....I should start studying for the European test. yikes
