Today we started class off by talking about our projects are going to be about. We have to give a presentation about a chapter in our books. We have to read through the chapter and pick out the main topics we want to talk about. My group has Chapter 7-Immigrants and Urbanization Section 1:The New Immigrants Section 2:The Age of the Railroads Section 3:Politics in the Guided. Those are all the sections we have to talk about in our presentations. Our blogs are about one more thing we want to learn about but it has to be in our section.We then talked about the taliban. THey are a muslum group. They made women wear masks, women had to stop schooling at age 8. The taliban is in war with Afganastan and Pacastan. The taliban are starting to strenghen.Then we talked about Al Queda. They are a group that took over the planes on 9/11. Al Queda is aa international terrorist network. They have people all over the world doing stuff. They wanted the military to run the government. In the U.S. in Denver there were people who were arrested because they had ties with the group. Al Queda started in 1988. In 1979-80 the Soviet Union invaded Afganastan. Al Queda wants to get rid of any western influence. They don't like us. We gave them weapons so they could fight the Soviet Union and now we are fighting them. The U.S. sent troups to Sadia Rabia. The leader of Al Queda, Sadam Hussein, is from Sadia Rabia. They fear our influence and think we are trying to take them over.
