Today in class we talked about 9-11 when the twin towers were taken down by a terrorist who high-jacked a plane. It took 8 and a half months to clean up the mess from the twin towers. Some of the buildings around them were damaged and had to be taken down. There was a motel and restaurants and also businesses in the twin towers. 2,000 people died just in new york where the twin towers were located. Some people say that there were bombs planted in the towers. When the plane hit the towers there was explosions happening in the tower. Other people say that the gasoline from the plane down through the tower and caught fire on something. It happened in the year of 2001. It doesn't seem like it has been 8 years but it has.There were over 200 fire fighter groups and then it got to bad and they sent a message out to the fire fighters but some of them didn't get the message so they got killed trying to save other people. A survivor carried a woman in a wheelchair from the 62nd floor in the twin towers and a fire fighter helped him carry her down from the 9th floor. 125 people died at the pentagon. The terrorists on flight 93 slit an assistant woman's throat and then they took over the plane. 37 people died on flight 93. We also talked about Talibans in class today. In 1996 the Taliban they started to take over more towns and they finally took over the entire government. From 1996 to 2001 they ruled afghanistan.The women of Taliban would be whipped if you could see their ankles and they couldn't wear makeup or go to school and they also couldn't play sports. Men were not allowed to have a trimmed beard. Anything that produces music was not allowed. October, 7th of 2001 we invaded afghanistan.
