9/2/09 Blog Summarization for Wednesday

Today in class we went over the southeast part of the United States. Then we talked about major news stories of this week. The wildfires spreading in California, and depending on who you talk to, if it was getting better or if it might not yet be put out until a couple weeks. Then we talked about swine flu, and how it is a really good idea to be as sanitary as possible, because you don’t want to catch it.Then we prepared for our presentations for about ten minutes. Heather’s group went, and they had the topics of Direct Democracy, and Representative Democracy. I learned that the other countries that have a democracy are Great Britain, Canada, Switzerland, and Australia. I found out that direct democracy is all decisions are voted on by the people. I also found out that direct democracy dates back to 500B.C.3Madison
