Today is Tuesday, yesterday was Labor Day so we had no school. Today we talked about our blogs that we did this last week. There were quite a few people who didn't do a free choice blog, but with the ones who did, I learned some interesting things. Greg did his blog on the history of athletic shoes, and I learned that the rubber soles used in shoes was developed during the 1890's.I also learned about these new and very popular Mediterranean diets that are significantly lower blood sugar, cholesterol, and other health problems in the thousands of people who use this diet. We learned about a terrible mining accident in China that caused the nearby town to have to evacuate due to carbon monoxide. Josh wrote about the invention of the computer. Charles Babbage was the "Father of the Computer". His first computer was hand cranked for power, and was advanced in decimal systems. There were more topics and whatnot but this is all that I am saying.
