Storm names used to be named after military leaders wives, then they went to the military alphabet. Now they're named every other boy and girl. A female named hurricane is more likely to have more deaths, because some people think that when a hurricane has a feminine name it is less likely to be intimidating and to take proper steps to safety, then if the name was masculine. For example a hurricane named Bruno is more likely to strike fear than a hurricane named Ella.
