Monday- No school thanks to Labor Day.
Tuesday- We went over the last part of the CWI intro quiz. Mr. Bruns had a big heartbreak when he realized the videos were no longer available.
Wednesday- August 14th and 20th were the first days Colin Kaepernick sat during the national anthem. The NFL makes a statement saying that players do not have to stand during the anthem, but are encouraged to. In september 2016 Kaepernick starts to kneel with his team, and other teams follow. 1968- In the olympics two guys started raising a fist to signify black power. The cowboys made a comprosmise by kneeling before the anthem, but when it started they stood. May 2018- NFL bans players from kneeling during games, if they would like to protest then they can stay in the locker room during the anthem. But they put the rule on hold in July 2018 and it's most likely no longer going to happen.
Thursday- We discuss the issues currently about Donald Trump and Judge Kavanaugh. Talked about Bob Woodward's book, and his participation in the watergate scandal. The New York Times posted an anynomous source leaking information about Trump from a high-ranking official inside the white house. We got our Europe map and started to learn the countries.
Friday- We learned what racial profiling is, and how it connects to email documents that were leaked recently. We talked about how the 25th amendment might be used to impeach Trump. We went over more on the Europe map.
