Andrew Jackson was the seventh President and really shaped the Democratic Party during his presidency. The Jacksonian Democracy was what Jackson and the people who followed him believed in politcally. The Second Party System also took place during his presidency, when the number of voters interested rose.
Not only having a strong backround with politics, Jackson was also a Colonel and the General of the Tennessee malitia and of course others. One of the biggest things I think of when I hear President Jackson, is the Indian Removal Act. The Indian Removal Act was a major thing in the American History, it pretty much changed the way everything was looked at with the Indian's. The tribes were removed from their homes and were sent on The Trail of Tears where they were forced to Indian Territory. Many Native Americans died resulting in the name, The Trail of Tears.
The Ordinance of Nullification authorized the tarriff of 1828, the whole idea was to protect the Northern United States businesses. The result was having to pay higher prices the region did not produce, causing some harm the the Southern United States. The Black Hawk War was in 1832 which consisted of Native American tribes who faught for land in the area against the U.S. Army and a militia from Illinois and Michigan Territory.
