Today we talked about our free choice blogs. Then Mr.Bruns talked about the rest of our 8th grade review blogs.Civil War--It was fought by the north and the south united states, The north won. It was about slavery. The north and south split because of slavery. The south needed slaves for their big cotton farms and the north didn't have that big of farms. The south suceeded when Lincoln was president. They thought that Lincoln was going to abolish slavery. The Union (the north) had almost all the advantages. 1861-1865 was when the north won.Reconstruction-1865-1877 was when the reconstruction. It was a period when they were trying to get the south to come back. They had to rebuild the whole south The freedmens bureau was designed to educate and job train african americans. It used to be illegal to educate the slaves.The south was split into 12 districts. The governments were taken over by the north. The south believed in black inferiority. They had to take over the governments so the south wouldn't succed again. In 1876 for the presidential election happened. The south said that as long as you end reconstrustion you can have Hayes be president. Then the white, racist, rich people go back into power. Everything went bad in the south as soon as reconstruction ended.
