Eunice Kennedy Shriver was born in Massachusetts. She was one of the nine kennedy children. She was the founder of the Special Olympics. She affected thousand of mental handicaped children.On 24 March 1984, Eunice was awarded with the Presidential Medal of Freedom, for her work on behalf of persons with intellectual disabilities. Then in 2005 she was honored with Special Olympics as one of the first recipients of a sidewalk medallion on The Extra Mile Point of Light Pathway in Washington D.C. Eunice Kennedy Shriver died on Aug. 11, 2009. She had five children along with her husband Sargent Shriver. Her kids were Robert Sargent Shriver III, Maria Owings Shriver Schwarzenegger, Timothy Perry Shriver, Mark Kennedy Shriver and Anthony Paul Kennedy Shriver.
