What can I say about today? Mainly that I survived and strongly feel that all freshmen should get a medal of some sort.Yet, it wasnt all terribly boring and it didnt all consist of being talked to for half an hour. CWI for example, was actually a highpoint of the day. We discussed a political cartoon that has recently surfaced of a photoshopped Obama looking very similar to the joker from The Dark Knight.We were then asked our interpetations of this cartoon. There was silence and then I took a stab at it. I didnt get to say all that I wanted to in class, however so I've decided to do that here.Obviously the cartoon is negative, in that it basically refrences the Joker's desire to dismantle and contol civilization and do away with sanity and values. Now, though that may sound extreme to refrence Obama and the Joker together in such a way, many people believe that the President's socialisic values and the turn that he hopes healthcare will take, will destroy this country.I can't say I agree completely, but I can say that I do see holes in his plans, and I'm reletively certain that at the very least, things will get worse before they get better, and we can only hope that under his leadership things will turn out for the best. The artist of the Obama/ Joker cartoon obviously feels otherwise.
