Hundreds of militants attacked US and Afghanistan in eastern Afghanistan on saterday. They opend fire on outposts from multiple positions using rockets, morters, and heavy caliber machine guns according to the official report. At least 8 American troops and 2 Afghan National Security force members were killed. The largest amount of US troops killed ing one day for an entire year according to CNN records.At least 13 Afghan police officers were captured in the attack, according to Haji Abdul Halim, the deputy governor of Nuristan province, where the battle took place.the fighting lasted about 12 hours. The official said that portions of the outpost burst into flames but was not able to tell if that caused any injury or death.
