Monday- Neolithic revolution prior to organized agriculture people were nomadic gather supplies in the area and moving when needed. 

along with planting crops, people also domesticated animals such as horses, dogs, goats and pigs

groups ranging from 25-70 people 

over time villages turned to towns then possibly cities

civilization emerged from people moving closer together leading to complex ways of thinking

A highly advanced society-advanced cities- writing/record keeping- specialized workers- complex institutions- Advanced technology 

natural borders rivers seas oceans mountains 

defensible borders important for a civilization to thrive? easier to protect the land and people.

  • Mummification- the process of dying and embalming a corpse to prevent decay usually reserved for royalty and the rich

  • Hieroglyphics- Egyptian form of writing

  • Papyrus- what Egyptians wrote on. Came from papyrus needs found in marshy areas

  • Indian Subcontinent- the land mass that includes Pakistan, India and bangladesh

  • Monsoon- seasonal winds that can dry air of heavy rain huge impact on india

  • Dynastic cycle- the rise, fall and replacement of dynasties

  • Mandate from Heaven- a just ruler that has approval from the gods an unjust ruler can lose their mandate to rule

  • Feudalism- a political system in which the king gives land to nobles/ lords and in return, they vow loyalty and military services to the king used in China, Japan, and Europe
