Storm surge is when the waves from the ocean go onto the coast. Hurricanes start of the west coast of Africa usually
Hurricanes are stronger by warm weather, then when it hits land it begins to die down. And become more of a tropical storm/depression.
Category 3+ is when you'll see the most damage.
Hurricanes form in the summer and the fall, once the wind reaches 39 mph it gets a name, when the wind is 75 mph it is classified a hurricane. Hurricane Sandy was 1000 miles long- that's the longest hurricane in the Atlantic ever.
More pavement there less ground there is to soak up the water, making cities like Houston more apt to major flood.

Arpaio was re-elected 5 times are country sheriff. He would make inmates be apart of chain-gangs, he was credited with creating the first female chain-gang. He was a critic of President Obama and was a pusher of wanting Obama to show his birth certificate. The sheriff went way above what he should've done and they had to pay millions of dollars. He would racially profile Latinos and Hispanics. in 2013 he was charged with the violation of a constitutional right of Latinos by targeting them, he was supposed to end biased practices. He then recently got in trouble for not doing that- in some cases he even mocked the judge. He was pardoned by President Trump, people are upset because they call him a criminal who racially targeted and borderline tortured them.

19th century- Industrial revolution
Unionizing helps protect workers, Canada used to have an anti-union law. September 5th used to be the old "Labor Day" technically. Now it is the first Monday in September. Oregon was the first state to legalize Labor Day. In the 1950's 1/3 of workers were apart of a union.

- They're not only trying to become prominent through violence, but they use social media too

- You didn't have to earn much, you were kinda just given it because you're the majority
- It's not just being wealthy- just being white in America means you're respected and trusted more
- Affirmative action laws- designed to force businesses to hire a certain percentage of minorities, same for colleges accepting
