On September 11, 2001 nineteen Al-Qeada terrorist hijacked four jet airplanes that were flying commercial. American airline flight 11 was intentionally crashed into the World Trade Center's North Tower at 8:46 a.m. At 9:03 a.m United Airlines flight 175 hit the south tower of the World Trade Center. Hijackers flew American Airlines Flight 77 into the Pentagon at 9:37 a.m. The ultimate target of the fourth flight was thought to be either the United States Capitol or White House, but crashed into crashed near Shanksville, Pennsylvania at 10:03 a.m.
The deaths of this event were massive. Out of all four planes there were no survivors wich made up 246. in the towers and on the ground and in New York City there were 2,605 killed. There were many buildings that were damaged around the world trade center when the two planes crashed into them. Some of the damaged buildings are 7 World Trade Center, 6 World Trade Center, 5 World Trade Center, 4 World Trade Center, the Marriott World Trade Center (3 WTC), and the World Financial Center complex and St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church.
The only reason that we have all of the names of the terriorist is because one man's luggage did not get on to the flight and it contained all 19 names and clues about their plans, motives, and backgrounds of the hijackers.Mohamed Atta was the ringleader of the 19 hijackers.Fifteen of the hijackers were from Saudi Arabia, two from the United Arab Emirates, one from Egypt, and one from Lebanon.I think that 911 was a terrible thing and many people's loved ones were hurt and killed. 911 should never be forgotten and should be reminded every year. It's would be terrible to be in someones shoes that had a husband or daughter ex. that left to go to work just as an ordianry day or visit the World Trade Center and they never came home. I was in first grade when this happened and even though i was young i still remember watching the second plane crash into the world Trade Center. This day shall never be forgotton!
